The quartz stone is made from a combination of 92% natural quartz and 8% resin binders and pigments. So it is an engineered stone and not a natural stone. One of the hardest and most durable materials, it has resistance to scratches and stains.
The quartz stone is known to be one of the most durable stones as it has resistance towards stains, chips, and cracks. The mixture of resin binder and natural quartz makes it an even harder stone. However, too much pressure applied with heavy objects can prove harmful to the quartz surface.
Most of the natural stones like granite, marble, and limestone do require sealing to make them last longer. But quartz stone does not need any sealant to be applied as it is already resistant to scratches and harsh stains. It is easy to clean and can be cleaned using water, mild soap, and a little non-abrasive cleaner for stain removal.
The quartz stone has multiple residential and commercial applications. In residential space, it can be used in bathrooms, kitchens, bedrooms, living spaces, laundry rooms, and more places. For commercial spaces, it can be used for reception, lobby, waiting areas, and other purposes.
The quartz stone is resistant to heat, but direct and prolonged exposure to heat can damage its surface. It might result in the discoloration of the resin. So it is highly recommended to put a heating pad to avoid the potential damage caused when a hot pot or utensil is placed over the quartz countertop.
